You know what’s great about Gladio not having a character? You can just make shit up!
-Short Temper? He got it from his mom
-Actual anger issues? He meditates. Cor taught him how
-Why he never talks about himself? He got abused by his trainers and the other glaives but nobody believed him
-His and Iris Name? Mom, she gave them the names and had a beautiful flower garden
-What happened to the Mom? Died during Iris birth. But Gladio couldn’t ever blame this little bundle of sunshine that is his little sister
-The eagle Tattoo? Family Tradition, but it’s a giant-ass eagle because he wanted to impress his dad who had never time for him and Iris
-Why is he so mad at Noct all the time? Because he’s jealous. The Prince of this country gets to moan and bitch all he wants, yet he isn’t even allowed to be exhausted. He didn’t choose to be shield either, yet he has to be silent
-Does he actually like Noct? Fuck yeah he does! He thinks he’s going to make a good king bc yes, he is a whiny bitch, but has a strong and good heart
-Why is he always training at Camp? because he himself reduces himself to nothing but his strength since that’s what everybody has been doing since he’s a child.
This is so good and so true.
The little bits of Gladio we get to see can tell such a story of a deep rich character, that had the writers given two shits about him, would have been amazing to see.
We all know what has been said. We know the palette of emotion this game has made us feel, know about the hypes, the dramas, the flaws and the fascination, the disappointment and the love.
To me, Final Fantasy XV has become one of the most important elements shaping my life in terms of creation. It made me go back to drawing, made me start writing in the first place. Maybe it’s just those holes that has made me love those characters to that extent. I really do. They are companions through my everyday life and probably will be until I grow old, I’m not exaggerating here.
Then again I got to know so many wonderful people through this franchise, people I’d have never known if not. You peeps know who you are and I am really grateful for the talks and moments we shared and still share, for the wonderful experiences I’d otherwise never would have had.
So thank you. Thank you Final Fantasy. Thank you for the creators for not giving up on XV. Thank you fandom. Thank you Chocobros and the whole FFXV cast.
