Reminder:

Don’t forget to stretch your hands every now and then while you’re working! Whether you’re typing or writing longhand, stretching will prevent pain and strain and allow you to write for longer periods of time and more often.

This goes for musicians and artists too. My doctor recommended stretching before and after doing a lot of activity with wrists and arm movement, and also every 30 minutes while doing the activity. I had issues with my wrists this summer, and these really helped. Here are the streches she recommended:

Hold this for 20 seconds, don’t pull until it hurts, just pull enough to stretch it

Hold this for 20 seconds, both arms. Again, don’t over do it.

And lastly, hold this for 5-10 seconds. Also make sure that your arms don’t go past a horizontal line:
